Developing Booklet-Type Learning Media for Improving the Students’ Learning Results in Computer Application Data Processing Course

Abstract


The study aimed at developing booklet-type learning media for improving the students’ learning results. This development research was intended to develop the booklet media in Computer Application Data Processing Course. The study took place in Surya Global Health Academy Yogyakarta. Then, the subjects of the study were 84 Semester VII students of Nursery Study Program Batch 2015/2016 while the object of the study the booklet-type learning media that would be developed. The data analysis was conducted by calculating the mean score of each component and converting the mean score into the criteria score. The results of the study show that the learning results of 15 Surya Global Health Academy students (39%) belong to the “Low” category prior to the implementation of the booklet-type learning media and the learning results of 27 Surya Global Health Academy students (32%) belong to the “High” category after the implementation of the booklet-type learning media. The results of t-test for the booklet-type learning media show that 4.831 > t-table (2.370 on the significance level 0.01 and 1.660 on the significance level 0.05) with p value < 0.005. These results confirm that there has been highly significant difference on the learning results between the period before the use and after the use of the booklet-type learning media.
