Abstrak

Indonesia is country with diverse cultures. However, these cultures become extinct over the times because they are considered ancient, especially in schools. This study aims to know effectiveness of Learning Cycle 7E model with Resitation method to understanding concepts of mathematic compared with conventional learning model and to know effectiveness of Learning Cycle 7E model with Resitation method to local culture appreciate of student compared with conventional learning model. This type of research is quasi experiment with design Non-equivalent control group design. The population are student of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Wates with academic year 2015/2016. The sample of research consisted of 2 classes that consist of 52 students. The data collection instruments used were pre-test and post-test instruments, both understanding concept and local culture appreciate. The techniques of data analysis use t test that done with the help of SPSS and Microsoft Excel. The results of this study show that the learning of mathematics using Learning Cycle 7E learning model with the Resitation method is more effective to understanding students concepts than conventional learning. In addition, it will also not be more effective to local culture appreciate of students
