Abstrak

Teaching materials that have been used by schools are not yet complete to guide students to be active in building understanding of concepts and solving problems by themselves. Therefore, it is necessary to develop teaching materials, such as Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) based on guided discovery learning model that enables students to understand the material, be active in the learning process, and create interesting learning. This research aim to analyze the needs of teaching materials based on guided learning model for the seventh grade students of SMP semester odd. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive research type. The subject of this research is teacher of mathematics and students of class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Banguntapan. The data analysis technique is done by interviewing and observing the curriculum, materials, and characteristics of students. The result of the research shows that the result of SK, KD, and indicator analysis according to the curriculum of 2013, students have difficulty on algebra material, and for LKS used in less interesting learning for students because the material given is not yet complete, there is no illustration of the image so it seems abstract, and no color is given to the content of important sentences. Therefore, it can be drawn the conclusions required the development of LKS based guided discovery that helps students learn actively.
