Abstrak

This study aims to design and test the utilization of Kelase application to embed the concept of algebra in the seventh grade students of SMP. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Research includes the planning, trial and evaluation phases. The subjects of the study were 34 students of class VII in one of Junior High School in Yogyakarta. Research data in the form of description of planning, description of implementation, recording of result of student discussion, result of student work, and questionnaire of student interest toward learning in situation of not that is learning situation without guidance from teacher using Kelase application. From the recording of student discussion result, student work result and questionnaire of student interest toward learning shows lack of interest in student learning by using Kelase application due to bad internet connection and not all students carrying mobile phone. Students are more likely to study with teacher guidance in the classroom, rather than selftaught students using the Kelase application.
