DESKRIPSI KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN KREATIF SISWA MELALUI PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK

Abstrak

The selection of appropriate methods in the learning of mathematics is needed in assisting learners' understanding of the material being taught and also expected to improve critical thinking and creative skills that can ultimately improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to describe students' creative and critical thinking skills through a scientific approach. The type of this research is qualitative descriptive with research subject of student of class VII of SMP Negeri 3 Semanu. Technique of collecting data of this research is by interview and observation. The results of this study indicate that in learning, students are only able to apply mathematical formulas, but do not know the origin of mathematical formulas. Learning is more procedural, students are less understanding of mathematical concepts and students are less active in learning. So students do not have the opportunity to develop knowledge and critical thinking skills and creative. But the problems that occur today most teachers do not develop their own teaching materials but buy from a book agent. Though the teaching materials of the agent is not adapted to the condition of the school and the condition of the students. Therefore, it takes teaching materials that can make students to thinkcritically and creatively.
