Abstrak

The success of a learning process can be seen or measured through learning achievement. The high level of learning achievement is influenced by several factors, such as internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include motivation, while one of the external factors is learning method. Structured task activity is one of the learning methods that develop student self-reliance. From independent learning, students can be motivated to learn and improve student achievement. Therefore, the purpose of this research to be conducted is to determine the effect of assigning structured tasks independently on mathematical material. This study is a quasi-experimental study using posttest-only design. The sample of the study were two randomly selected classes, each of which amounted to 20 students. The first class is designated as an experimental class given the treatment of self-structured assignment, while the second class as the control class is not given treatment. Both classes were tested with tests, data collection with the test and data testing using the t-test. So it can be concluded that students' learning achievement will be good if students have high learning motivation and learning method is done well. Learning with the provision of structured tasks independently can improve the motivation and achievement of learning mathematics students of class XI SMK Piri 2 Yogyakarta.
