Abstrak

The purpose of this research are to describe the process of implementation of the Cooperative learning models type Numbered Heads Together (NHT) to increase the interest and student achievement learning in class VIII C SMP N 1 Nanggulan Kulon Progo. Type of research is action research class carried out in two cycles, where eachcycle consist of four stages, namely (1) planning, (2) implementating, (3) observating, and (4) reflecting. The subjects in this research are student of class VIII C SMP N 1 Nanggulan, amounting to 32 students while the object in this research is the interest and student achievement. Data obtained in this research include: student learning outcomes drawn from the test results as the end of cycle and the activity of students drawn from the observation sheets.The results showed an increase in every indicator of student  interest proceeds. In the first cycle the average value of the interest indicator of 72,75% increased in the second cycle into 78,50%. While the average math student achievement learning increased from 64,31 in the pre-cycle to 71,88  in the first cycle after the second cycle increased to 75.
