Memerdekakan siswa menggunakan media sosial untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis
Abstract
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa menggunakan media social facebook. Facebok merupakan media sosial yang paling populer dikalangan siswa dan lebih banyak menggunakan ketrampilan menulis dalam penggunannya. Akan tetapi sebagian besar siswa tidak menggunakan Facebook sebagai media pembelajaran. Target penelitian ini adalah 20 siswa kelas 9 SMP Pembangunan Piyungan Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara online melalui akun fanspage dalam facebook diluar jam pembelajaran. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan menulis siswa menglami peningkatan yang signifikan, terutama dalam jenis teks recount. Penggunaan facebook sebagai penunjang dalam pembelajaran akan memberikan dampak yang positif apabila dikeola dengan baik sehingga mempermudah mereka dalam memahami materi melalui intensitas komunikasi dan interaksi yang dilakukan di luar jam pembelajaran.

Abstract: This research aims to improve students ' writing skills using Facebook. Facebok is the most popular social media among students and mostly using the writing skills in its use. However, most students do not use Facebook as a learning medium. Target of this research is 20 students of Grade 9 SMP Pembangunan Piyungan Yogyakarta. This research uses a quantitative approach. Data retrieval is done online through a fanspage account in Facebook outside of learning period. From the results of the study can be concluded that the students’ writing skill is significantly increased, especially in the recount text type. The use of Facebook as a support in learning will have a positive impact when it is used properly, making it easier for students to understand the material through the intensity of communication and interaction conducted outside of learning period.Â
