PERAN GURU DALAM PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER SISWA MELALUI BUDAYA LITERASI

Abstract
Permasalahan kemorosotan nilai, moral, perilaku manusia zaman ini telah menjadi problematika kehidupan bangsa Indonesia di abad 21 ini. Kemerosotan nilai tersebut karena ketidakefektifan penanaman nilai-nilai moral, baik di lingkungan keluarga, sekolah dan masyarakat secara keseluruhan. Efektivitas paradigma pendidikan nilai yang berlangsung di jenjang pendidikan formal hingga kini masih sering diperdebatkan. Dalam dunia pendidikan guru memiliki peran penting dalam pembinaan karakter siswa. Namun disayangkan  kemampuan berbahasa anak-anak Indonesia masih tergolong rendah . Siswa sekolah dasar memiliki latar belakang yang berbeda dan berpengaruh pada minimnya perbendaharaan kata sehingga berpengaruh pula pada karakter setiap siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan peranan guru dalam pendidikan karakter siswa melalui kegiatan literasi di sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi literatur untuk mengkaji permasalahan literasi secara mendalam. Hasil pengkajian menunjukkan bahwa literasi dapat membantu peranan guru dalam pendidikan karakter siswa di Sekolah. Secara umum kegiatan literasi membantu guru menjalankan perannya dalam membina karakter siswa, dimana siswa menjadi pribadi jujur, disiplin, bertanggungjawab, mandiri, peduli, hormat, berpikir ke depan dan berkepribadian unggul.

Abstract
The problem of decline in moral values, human behavior today has become a problematic life of the Indonesian people in this 21 st century.this decline in value is due to the ineffectiveness of instlalling moral vaues, both in the family, school and community as a whole.the effectiveness of the value education paradigm that takes place at level of formal education is still being debated.In the world of education, teachers have an important role in fostering student character. But unfortunately the language abilities of Indonesian children are still relatively low. Elementary school students have different backgrounds and affecting the minimum vocabulary so that it affects the character of each student. This study aims to explain the role of teachers in student character education throught literacy activities in schools. This research uses literature study to assess the literacy issues in depth. Assessment result show that literacy can help teachers carry out their role in educating the character of students in school.where students become honest individuals who are disciplined, responsible, independent, caring, respectful, forward thinking and have a superior personality.
