Abstract

This article aims to find out how to apply the role playing method in learning Indonesian speaking skills for children in elementary schools. Apart from that, it is also to provide innovation to teachers in Indonesian language learning activities, especially in the speaking skills of elementary school children. The method used in this research is literature study where data is obtained from collecting data with library data, reading and recording and processing research materials using documentation data collection techniques. In addition, the approach used in this study is a qualitative approach where the data comes from the understanding and interpretation of the data obtained. The results obtained from the research that has been done show that speaking skills are one of the language skills that must be mastered by children or students. By speaking children can communicate and express ideas, ideas, thoughts, and feelings. The role playing method is carried out by discussing the stories to be staged in advance, dividing roles, setting places, practicing dialogue, evaluating, staging, re-evaluating, and giving mandates. This method is very effective for use in learning Indonesian speaking skills. It has been proven from several studies which show an increase in speaking skills of around 85% after trying this method
