Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers' difficulties in implementing authentic assessment caused by several factors. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman which is divided into several stages. The results showed that: (1) The implementation of authentic assessment at SD Negeri Glagah is carried out by homeroom teachers routinely every day. (2) The difficulties experienced by grade 1 teachers in conducting authentic assessment are the large number of basic competencies (KD), the lack of learning hours, the difficulty of assessing the attitudes, knowledge and skills of each student, the lack of understanding of teachers using laptops, the lack of teacher knowledge related to authentic assessment, real evidence of assessment and lack of confidence in students. (3) The inhibiting factors experienced by teachers in conducting authentic assessment are internal teacher factors, lack of teacher understanding of authentic assessment, time constraints, and students who lack confidence. (4) Supporting factors experienced by teachers in conducting authentic assessment are teacher responsibility factors, school facilities, openness, collaboration and cooperation.
