Abstract

In this day and age learning Indonesian is less attractive to some students. There are several factors that influence a number of students not understanding the correct Indonesian vocabulary so that the mastery of Indonesian vocabulary is still low in elementary schools. This study aims to increase Indonesian vocabulary by using crossword puzzles where this learning gives students the freedom to play an active role in learning activities according to the currently implemented curriculum, namely the independent curriculum. This study shows the results of differences before the use of crossword media in learning Indonesian vocabulary and after the use of crossword media in learning. the results of research on the use of crossword media can improve vocabulary mastery of Indonesian in elementary school students.
