Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the teacher's role in instilling character in students through the teachings of the Leadership Trilogy at SD Negeri 03 Bongas. This research design is qualitative descriptive research. The research subjects as well as the resource persons for this research included teachers, the deputy head of student affairs, and students. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used in this study refers to the Miles and Huberman model, which includes 4 stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Check the validity of the data by increasing persistence, using source triangulation, technical triangulation, time triangulation, and using reference materials. The results showed that the teacher's role in applying student character values ​​was 1) the teacher as a role model in the formation of basic characteristics such as independence, exemplary, religious, nationalist, cooperation, and integrity, 2) the teacher as a motivator for students to be able to give things that best for himself and the school, 3) the teacher becomes the supervisor of the rules in the ongoing activities within the school. Three elements play a role in the process of cultivating student character, namely: school, family, and environment. If there are elements that are less than optimal in instilling character, it will certainly affect the process of instilling character. The solution is to improve communication between schools and parents, holding counseling about the importance of school, family, and also the environment in the success of the learning process.
