PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENCERITAKAN KEMBALI ISI TEKS BACAAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE ROLE PLAYING PADA SISWA KELAS III SDN KINTELAN 2 YOGYAKARTA

This class action research aims to describe the improvement of the skills to retell the contents of the reading text through the roleplaying method to thirdgrade students of SD Negeri Kintelan 2 Yogyakarta. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of this study were grade 3 students, totaling 21 students. The object of this research is the whole process and application of the roleplay method used to improve the retelling skills of thirdgrade students at SD Negeri Kintelan 2 Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques used are observation, testing, and documentation. The instrument test uses an expert verdict test. In the preaction, the average retelling skill using the roleplaying method was 58.85 with a percentage of 28.57%, after being given the first cycle action, the average was 65.98 with a percentage of 57.14%. In cycle II the average retelling skill was 80.40 with a percentage of 76.19%. These results indicate that the roleplaying method can improve the skill of recounting the contents of reading texts in thirdgrade students of SD Negeri Kintelan 2 Yogyakarta.
