Abstract

the purpose of this research is to increase interest and achievement of learning Mathematics with Contextual learning in grade students of SMA XG Wangon school year 2013/2014 . This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR).The subjects in this study were grade students of SMA XG Wangon totaling 28 students , while the application of contextual learning object is to increase interest and achievement of learning Mathematics. The results showed that after the application of contextual learning , interests and learning achievement of students has increased. This can be shown by an increase in the percentage average student interest from 52.33 % to 80.98 % pre-action into the after action. Learning achievement of students also increased , judging from the average value of 62.85 into 70.35 in pre-cycle at the end of the first cycle , and increased again at the end of the second cycle becomes 84.28. While the percentage of completeness students ( with KKM 75 ) also increased , namely the pre-action by 25 % to 67.85 % in the first cycle , increased again in the second cycle becomes 85.71 %. Can be inferred contextual learning can increase interest and achievement of students learning mathematics.
